Hi Guys,

As anyone who has steam will know, the games library can be massive (I have over 60 Steam games...yikes!). However I rarely have more than half a dozen installed.

Now anyone who sticks a SSD drive into their rig, will soon see the gigage vanish under the weight of steam game installs.

I found this utility that moves steam games from the default installation, into a folder on your storage disk and creates a link, allowing steam to rum the game, update etc.

I have only stuck games where im not too concerned about load times etc into this folder, but it works a treat.

I bought a SSD this weekend and instaleld it.

As an experiment I backed up my Origin Games folder across to my storage disk. (C:\Program files 86) whatever.

I just cut the entire origin games folder and pasted it safely away. I already had backed up the Steam games I would be reinstalling.

I installed teh SSD, installed Origin, then copied across the Origin games folder from storage.

Clicked on Battlefield 3, and it very soon said ready to play. Saved a lot of time downloading. Of course I had to download the latest browser plugin , but thats tiny.

Only word of advice, After installing it, go to the game folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 and look for the Punkbuster app pbsvc, make sure you run it. I also as a matter of course run punkbuster updater.

I had forgot punkbuster and could get into any servers. That lot should save anyone a stack of time and download bandwidth if restricted.

Did anyone buy this game? Got it yesterday as pretty much every review gives it 8+ out of 10 or 5 stars, and so far I think its absolutely ruddy awful and insanely boring, feels like cut scene, bad sword fight, cut scene, bad sword fight, am I missing something? It's all very pretty, but after playing alot of Skyrim I can't help compare it to that, and the difference is just night and day. Anyone played it to the end? Should I carry on or throw it in the bin?

I will post more about this game, having played CS 1.6 and CS source and retired myself, as this is the game played by professional gamers.
App when you reach the age of 25 you are spent and unable to react and compete ( this puts most of MaB out of the loop).

However having read an article in PCGAMER this version with upgraded graphics is being sent out to hit at the COD series and for the first time will be released onto consoles.

For those who have never played Counterstrike MW2 had some similiar maps, all about saving hostages from terrorists etc.
The games are short and sweet can be as short as 5 minutes, so it is an excellent team and match game.

With the sdk being made available only 3 months after the games release mods and maps will be made by the community in abundance.

This is a PC GAMERS game not something designed for consoles and an afterthought, There will be dedicated servers I should imagine hosted on owners boxes.

When I have more time I will publish an in depth article and also the BF3 dlc's including the small map pack that will compete with COD game play.
